Welcome to Alara AI ("Alara", "we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service at alara.ai. By using Alara, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Account information: Your name, email address, and profile picture provided via Google Sign-In (OAuth).
Usage data: Conversations, prompts, and AI responses you create within Alara. These are stored to provide chat history functionality.
Payment data: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by Razorpay. We do not store your card details. We only receive transaction confirmation and your chosen plan.
Device & technical data: IP address, browser type, and approximate location (used for geo-based pricing). We use ipapi.co for IP lookup.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve the Alara AI service
To save your chat history and preferences
To manage your subscription and billing
To detect and prevent abuse or fraudulent usage
To send important service updates (we do not send marketing emails without consent)

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely on Vercel's infrastructure and associated databases. Chat histories are stored per-user and are accessible only to you while logged in. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS).

4. AI Conversations

Your conversations with Alara are processed by Google's Gemini API. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details on how Google handles API data. We do not use your conversations to train our own models.

5. Third-Party Services

Alara uses the following third-party services:

Google OAuth — Authentication
Razorpay — Payment processing
Google Gemini API — AI generation
Vercel — Hosting & infrastructure
ipapi.co — IP-based country detection for pricing

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and chat data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at alara.ai.wrap@gmail.com. We will process deletion requests within 14 days.

7. Cookies

Alara uses browser localStorage for storing your preferences (theme, response mode). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

8. Children's Privacy

Alara is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at alara.ai.wrap@gmail.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via the app. Continued use of Alara after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
